The Myth of Ryukaze

In the vast wilderness of Othard, when the Star was still young, a tribe of nomadic families came upon the gravely injured dragon. At first, the tribe disagreed on what they should do with it. Half of the tribe wanted to finish the creature off and cut it up for meat and supplies, even though it was too small to provide much. The other half just wanted to leave the dragon to the elements and move on, since it was likely to draw bigger predators to them. As they discussed, the leader of the tribe asked for compassion from her people.Even though the tribe was small and had little to share, they did their best to take care of the dragon, even creating a small sled to carry it. They protected it from the weather while they traveled, and fed what little they could spare from hunts to the creature. They treated the wounds to the best of their abilities with their old herbal recipes for healing. Soon, the dragon was strong enough and able to return to the sky.This would not be the last time the tribe saw the dragon, fortunately. One brutal winter day, the tribe was huddled down in their camp to defend against the winds and snow. They were vulnerable, and this was when a rival clan attacked. The smaller tribe would have been wiped out completely if it weren't for the arrival of an ally. Sweeping down from the gray skies, a behemoth of a dragon flew to the tribe's rescue, chasing off their enemies and scorching those who did not flee. When the giant dragon landed, she introduced herself as the mother of the fledgeling the tribe had nurtured back to health. She was grateful to the tribe and offered to protect and teach them how to harness the wind. This, to honor the dragon, the tribe leader, the same that had offered the fledgeling compassion, named their small family the Ryukaze Clan. It is said the dragon handed the secrets of flight to the leaders, but that ability has been lost to time...

The Bow of Bone

Once the dragon gifted her wisdom to the Ryukaze Clan, she gave a final gift to the people before disappearing. She gave them one of her fangs, blessed with the magics of her kind. They took the gift and carved it into a bow called Todoroku Kiba. This blessed relic was used by the leader of the clan, Midori. Passed down from leader to leader, the Todoroku Kiba holds the memory of the Ryukaze.

Vallyn took a liking to her and started helping her take care of her little brother and sisters. Her voice was taken by a mugger when she was young, but Vallyn taught her the handspeak of his people.After she and her siblings were taken in by Narcissa, she learned the common sign language quickly. Vallyn took her under his wing and started teaching her the ways of the bow.

He is mostly non verbal, though he can and will speak if he trusts someone.
